Travelogue of a trip that occurred over a two-week period. Includes scenic sequences of mountains and lakes such as: Spokane, Washington, Rockies, Kootenay National Park, Sinclair Valley, Floc Lake, Marble Canyon, bears chasing and "looting" the cars. Castle Mountain - home of the little Chinook Wing - Banff and Cascade Mountain. Footage includes the people, apparel and cars of the late 1920s.
New Skyscrapers for Old
Mountain climbing with all its thrills near Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. The film begins on a busy street in Toronto with cars and a Yonge Street streetcar contending with traffic, and pedestrians during rush hour. It then cuts to a mountain in the Rockies and Lake O'Hara and with four men with pack-sacks boarding train. They later climb past the Seven Sisters waterfalls. Coming to an alpine lake, they begin the ascent to the summit, using ropes and picks and traversing some tricky rock faces. Near the top they reach the 'Devil's Window' and, finally, the summit. The film was produced by the National Parks of Canada to promote tourism travel to the Canadian Rockies.
An Ascent of the Monte Rosa Glaciers
An alpine ascent Monte Rosa glacier by a large group of mountaineers equipped with crampons and ice axes. The group ascends from the Gabiet lake to the Corno del Camoscio (3.024 meters) and up the Capanna Gnifetti hut at 3.647 meters. From there they continue the progression by the glacier up to the Capanna Regina Margherita hut at 4.559, the highest observatory in Europa at the time, from where they start the way back to the village of Gressoney. The film was produced in 1932 by the Instituto Nazionale Luce during the Italian Fascist regime.

Activities include snow activities like snowball fights, dog sledding, ski lessons, and hunting of European chamois; and summer activities like golf practice in front of the hotel, rock climbing, and sight-seeing trips and picnic outings amid scenery of outstanding beauty.
