“Kick Start” re-lives Florida’s trek to the program’s first national championship in 1998, coming up against women’s soccer juggernaut North Carolina. To build a national championship program from the ground up is no easy task and given the landscape of women’s collegiate soccer in the mid-1990s, Becky Burleigh’s charge was even more difficult.

Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy had never seen a group like those who joined the Crimson Tide in 2009. They were only freshmen, but their talent was deep, and their hearts seemed to beat in sync. The group was so special, Coach Murphy predicted they’d win a national championship – something he had yet to accomplish despite reaching the NCAA Women’s College World Series seven times. The passion and pageantry of primetime Southeastern Conference football will be on full display this summer with the debut of SEC Storied: “Saturday Night Lights” on Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. ET. Directed by NFL Films’ James Weiner and produced by ESPN Films, “Saturday Night Lights” was created in recognition of ESPN and ABC’s landmark football deal with the SEC that kicks off in August 2024.

Sam Bowie had a productive basketball career at Kentucky and in the NBA but was plagued by leg injuries and lofty expectations (he was drafted one spot ahead of Michael Jordan). Still, he never let his run of bad fortune deflate his spirit, eventually finding success and happiness as a horse owner in Lexington, Kentucky.
