Through small yet meaningful anecdotes and reflections, a handful of individual voices come together to form a collective narrative that speaks to the everyday lives and challenges of Latinos who have grown up in the contemporary US South.

The Funeral
In a small Bulgarian village, two estranged sisters, Lina and Mila, reunite for their father’s funeral, only to find themselves caught in a whirlwind of absurd and comical misunderstandings. Accompanied by Lina’s foreign boyfriend, George, the family faces a series of chaotic events — swapped bodies, broken hearses, chicken chases, unexpected calls from beyond the grave, and heartfelt confessions. Amid the unfolding chaos, the sisters begin to mend their relationship, and Lina realizes just how important her roots truly are.
