W is for Waves
The film W is for Waves takes sisters, author Virginia Woolf and visual artist Vanessa Bell, as a starting point to explore the artistic process and examine the relationship between the visual and the literary. We see a choreography of two figures taking turns reading a book and moving with two large-scale paintings. The camera witnesses the actions and plays a subtle yet active role in altering the experience of space and visibility. The film was shot on 16 mm film at Bell’s country house, Charleston, in East Sussex, and at Kalervo Kallio’s Artist Home in Helsinki. The text is adapted from Virginia Woolf's novel The Waves (1931), with some modifications.

Trigger
Thailand, 2030 — In an era where the government has legalized euthanasia through the organization ITB (In The Blink), Doc, a middle-aged “Negotiator,” is tasked with screening and evaluating those who request to end their lives for valid and justified reasons. But when a radical youth movement demands the legal age for euthanasia to be lowered — sparking debates over whether life’s achievements should come early, or even matter at all — tensions erupt and spiral into a crisis Doc and the organization could never have foreseen.

Barber Gull Rub

Immediately, Dave Barber agrees, submitting his bare flesh to Maddin's road kill and to film history. (This film was commissioned by the Winnipeg Film Group's Cinematheque for its 25th anniversary, Silverscope)

Through his struggle to reconstruct his own identity, he finds himself caught in a cycle of self-perpetuating artistic expression where the line between reality and perception is not clearly defined.

Reminiscence: A Life Through the Lens
A visual essay on the stimuli that draw a bridge to past memories of my life; a real documentary about where I was and where I am, what I did and what I do; a reflection of the person I was and continue to be.

Acabado, Permanente Inacabado
Between documentary images of a craftsman in his workshop and spaces threaded with loose strands, Acabado, Permanente Inacabado constructs a living journey that questions the illusion of a finished work, insisting on the possibility of returning, unraveling and allowing the act of creation to bloom.
