Year By Year
Made during an exchange trip to China, Year By Year is a short documentary exploring changing attitudes towards marriage, children and traditional values. Moving between Shanghai and the rural farmland surrounding it, the film reflects on how place, generation and culture shape ideas of family, responsibility and the future.
White as Snow
Claire is a beautiful young woman who works at her late father’s hotel, that is now managed by her evil stepmother Maud. Claire unwittingly sparks uncontrollable jealousy in Maud, whose young lover has fallen in love with Claire. Maud decides to get rid of Claire who finds shelter in a farm where she’s allowed to break free from her strict upbringing through encounters with seven “princes.”

The Albino's Trees
A poignant moral dilemma unfolding against lush mountainous landscapes, The Albino’s Trees follows Yuku (Ryohei Matsuoka), an animal control hunter who takes on a lucrative job to kill a rare white deer considered to be a god of the forest by a nearby village. Though Yuku initially steps up to the task in order to support his mother’s medical bills, his will begins to falter as he gets to know the villagers and the reasons behind their difficult choice to live as outsiders.
3 Feet Apart
Set in the near future, this is a tale about Han, a boy born with a handphone inside his head. Han is now eighteen years old and he is in love with Mei, a girl born with two small speakers inside her head and a small TV inside her right palm. Han and Mei must struggle with the fact that they will always be three feet apart.
