Beautiful Banff

The natural bathtub at the Hot Springs, the Government pool, free for all; Sun Dance Canyon, scene of Ralph Connor's story of similar name, are shown, together with beautiful cloud scenes; bison, buffalo, mountain goats and yaks. H.R.H. the Princess Patricia of Connaught and her father, the Duke of Connaught, third son of Queen Victoria, are seen, with the survivors of "Princess Patricia's Own Regiment," which was nearly annihilated in Flanders. One of the veterans is wearing a watch charm made from the bullet which caused him to be invalided home. A corporal tells his adventure; three times he was buried in craters created by shell explosions: was invalided home, blind, deaf and dumb, and then run over by an auto and his sight, hearing and speech instantly restored.

These remote mountain ranges are home to rare mountain caribou, endangered bats, grizzly bears, wolves, and unique birds.

In the Shadow of Assiniboine
A climbing expedition by a mountain guide and a woman to the summit of Mount Wedgwood, on a training climb in preparation for an attempt to scale Mont Assiniboine. The two left their tents in the camp in the morning and after a walking approach they start climbing the rocky slopes roped together. Then they cross a snow field anf finally reach the summit after a crossing a dangerous rocky step. The film was produced by the National Parks of Canada to promote tourism travel to the Canadian Rockies.
Cold Feet
A wealthy father tries to discourage his daughter's taste for stories of the Mounted; her imagination conjures up the ideal lover as one who wears that red coat and whose slogan is "get your man." She arrives at her father's camp in the frozen North the victim of a frameup: her father had planned that his employees must discourage her in every manner possible. The idea is if she sees him she will be disillusioned. A few hunters spying the "wolves" shoot with intent to kill, and a real bear enters the hut and scatters the plotters. The scheme works well, even with all these inconveniences, until a genuine Mountie appears on the scene and administers punishment to the arch-villain and his dwarf-like henchman. As a result the girl's romantic imagination vindicates her beau ideal. The two lovers are last seen standing chest-deep in the snow.
She Climbs to Conquer
"She Climbs to Conquer" shot by W.J. Oliver, was a noteworthy film which gained well merited acclaim. Made in 1933 it pictured the climb of Georgia Engelhard, a professional mountain climber, from Abbot's Pass to the peak of Mount Victoria.

Mountain climbing with all its thrills near Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. The film begins on a busy street in Toronto with cars and a Yonge Street streetcar contending with traffic, and pedestrians during rush hour. It then cuts to a mountain in the Rockies and Lake O'Hara and with four men with pack-sacks boarding train. They later climb past the Seven Sisters waterfalls. Coming to an alpine lake, they begin the ascent to the summit, using ropes and picks and traversing some tricky rock faces. Near the top they reach the 'Devil's Window' and, finally, the summit. The film was produced by the National Parks of Canada to promote tourism travel to the Canadian Rockies.
