Beautiful Banff
...From its terrace one gets a magnificent view down the Valley of the Bow River. The natural bathtub at the Hot Springs, the Government pool, free for all; Sun Dance Canyon, scene of Ralph Connor's story of similar name, are shown, together with beautiful cloud scenes; bison, buffalo, mountain goats and yaks. H.R.H. the Princess Patricia of Connaught and her father, the Duke of Connaught, third son of Queen Victoria, are seen, with the survivors of "Princess Patricia's Own Regiment," which was nearly annihilated in Flanders. One of the veterans is wearing a watch charm made from the bullet which caused him to be invalided home. A corporal tells his adventure; three times he was buried in craters created by shell explosions: was invalided home, blind, deaf and dumb, and then run over by an auto and his sight, hearing and speech instantly restored.
The Silent Barrier
Helen Wynton, a society reporter, befriends Etta Stampa, who confesses that her heart is broken because her father has disinherited her because of a love story she had some years ago. Sent to St. Moritz for a story, Helen focuses on finding Etta's father, a Swiss mountain guide, to reconcile with her daughter. On the other hand, chasing Helen in St. Moritz is Mark Bower, an unscrupulous man. Aware of Bower's trip, Charles Spencer, who is in love with Helen, arrives in time to save Helen from Bower's evil intentions on the top of a mountain.

Way Up and Back
"During the 1927, AGM Geddes on behalf of the Huts Committee, gave the report on the progress made on the completion of the Club's first hut, the Fay Hut in Prospectors Valley. Tragedy struck later in August when Geddes was killed while descending Mt. Lefroy. A twelve minute silent film was made during part of this expedition entitled, Way Up and Back and is available for viewing at the Whyte Museum in Banff."

Crags and Crevasses
A man and a woman in a mountaineering tour on the Blackfoot Glacier in the Glacier National Park. They cross the glacier, negotiating big crevasses and progressing by cutting steps using the ice axe. The two finally reach reach the summit of a rocky peak. The film belongs to a series of two films made to promote tourism travel to the Glacier National Park. The couple in the film are Dorothy Pilley, the prominent British mountaineer, and her husband Ivor Armstrong Richards, who traveled to the Glacier National Park in 1926 where they scaled 25 peaks in 19 days, together with Hans Reiss from Norway and Count Rinkie Donnersmark from Germany.
A Day with a West Point Cadet
For his third picture in his series, Mr. Holmes takes his audience on a visit to our National Military Academy at West Point, there to study the daily life of Uncle Sam's Cadets, the future generals who in after years will lead the armies of the United States. Mr. Holmes' series of West Point pictures show all the phases of our Cadets' lives of study, drill and play. They also give a knowledge of the beautifully situated military academy itself, its fine buildings for study. Its drill halls, its mess hall, the parade grounds. Flirtation Walk, the old historic reminiscences of Revolutionary days, and even glimpses of the serving room, during the Sunday dinner hour, when hundreds of roast chickens and gallons upon gallons of ice cream are served to the young soldiers. Building of pontoon bridges, daring artillery and cavalry drilling, target practice, mounted and dismounted, infantry drill, dress parade, guard mount, all these features of life at West Point are interestingly depicted.

The Cliff Dwellers of America
The first picture of the new Paramount-Burton Holmes Travel pictures recount Mr. Holmes' motor trip of the summer of 1913 through the more picturesque and interesting portions of New Mexico. As the journey leads through the lands of the former cliff-dwellers and former and present occupants of these prehistoric apartment houses called pueblos, Mr. Holmes chose to begin his trip at Chicago, there to see the cliff-dwellers of today threading in countless throngs the deep "Canyons" flanked on each side by the abodes of the modern "Cliff-dwellers." This is but a momentary glimpse, as the train is seen taking the audience to Santa Fe. From Santa Fe the travelers are taken to the famous pueblo of Taos and thence to the even more celebrated pueblo of Acoma, which was just as old, to all appearances, when the Spanish Conquistadores came up out of Old Mexico in 1740, to convert the Indians and conquer the country in the name of their King...
